Job description: Do Something is the national organization that makes it possible for teens to change the world. Joining Do Something is a great way to learn the ins and outs of the not-for-profit world, work in a fun and young office environment, and get great experience.

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will become The expert on great volunteerism ideas and easy ways for teens and their friends to take action
  • Coordinate all Do Something Volunteer Activities
  • Be the contact person for the Do Something Clubs program, send monthly e-blasts, be a trusted resource for teens to reach out to
  • Work with other not-for-profits to ensure that they have teen-appropriate volunteer opportunities and create lasting partnerships
  • Brainstorm innovative ways for young people to get involved – we want new school thinking, not just stuffing envelopes
  • Business Development: cold-calling prospective sponsors, creating sponsorship proposals, perfecting in-person sponsorship pitches, and being able to think creatively on the spot
  • Managing sponsor relationships and creating marketing plans for various Do Something cause of the month programs
  • An excellent introduction to fundraising and an opportunity to make great contacts in the not-for-profit and for-profit worlds
Req. candidate profile : Qualifications:
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
  • Able to convey your message in a teen-friendly manner
  • Seriously self-driven and determined to reach goals
  • Extremely well organized, a multi-tasker, and able to work effectively on a team
  • Knowledge of pop culture and the teens trends of the moment
  • Excellent communication skills: solid grammar, ability to convey message clearly, not afraid to pick up the phone and call someone
  • Experience volunteering/working on teen-centric initiatives
  • Passionate about young people changing the world
