Implements forecasts and initiates production schedules for the various product lines as needed to satisfy demand requirements. Releases component parts from suppliers to support production schedules.
Establish and maintain effective lines of communication between planning, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales to determine the best course of action for production.
Take an active role in weekly production meetings to discuss issues related to the current schedule and resolve any pending issues.
Maintain accurate product release dates within Oracle and communicate updates and/or delays to customer service.
Responsible for development and execution of the MPS (Master Production Schedule) based on staffing and customer requirements.
Use the Oracle MPS (Master Production Scheduling) package to drive the manufacture of finished goods and the resources needed.
Anticipate problems that might occur on the production floor, such as, material shortages and take corrective action in order to avoid down time.
Take the general sales forecast by product line, from sales and marketing, and develop it into a part specific forecast in the Oracle system to drive MRP requirements for component parts.
Use sound judgment and available tools to adjust and maintain finished goods forecasts and safety stocks as needed.
Responsible to maintain item attributes for finished goods that control discrete job size and frequency.
Track production performance and report results to management.
Establish rapport with vendors supporting your product lines.
Responsible to use Oracle to schedule vendor deliveries by releasing against existing purchase orders, that fully support production schedules.
Expedite deliveries as necessary to meet production schedules.
Review stocking levels of components on a regular basis and work with Purchasing to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Oversee some aspects of junior level position.
Perform other related duties as required.
Req. candidate profile :
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. Three to five years materials background required.
