Summary: The Production Support Engineer will be responsible for coordinating production support activities for all major systems and related subsystems to ensure the integrity of computer-generated data and data process flow. Involves technical understanding of applications and processes supported.
Job duties: Job Requirements

* Troubleshoots problems, involves the appropriate resources, handles trouble tickets and makes fixes in a timely manner in accordance with established service levels and procedures including after-hours support.
* Takes ownership in leading the technical effort in bringing production systems back on line during outages. Coordinates efforts with the appropriate personal throughout the IT organization.
* Interacts with Information Technology Services team to assist in configuring automated monitoring of applications and processes.
* Communicates failures to the appropriate individuals in the organization and externally (where appropriate) in timely manner. Provides necessary follow-up and documentation related to the handling and resolution of issues.
* Coordinates monitoring procedures and documentation of production database and web processes. Continually monitors production processes and services for issues and performance, handles production trouble tickets and follows proper procedures for resolving tickets.
* Willingly works flexible schedule as outlined below as needed.
* Actively engages in driving strategic initiatives, and the related goals, to ensure the most optimal outcome.
* Effectively communicates using written, oral, non-verbal, and active listening skills. Has the ability to clearly present an idea or concept so others understand, lets others speak, and engages productively in difficult conversations while upholding our ethical values.

* Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in IT or related field
* Minimum 6 years related experience
* The ability to work a flexible schedule with some overlap of the schedules of other support engineers (for example, schedules may start as early as 5am, go as late as 10pm, work days may include Monday through Friday, and/or Saturday, and extended hours may occasionally be required during release windows of Thursday evening (10:30pm to 3am) and/or Sunday morning (6am to 9am).
* Previous production and/or customer support experience desired
* Experience with monitoring SQL Server or other relational databases and SQL queries (various joins and sub-queries)
* Experience with installing and monitoring Tomcat servers
* Previous experience developing in Java
* Knowledge of Crystal Reports is a plus

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required. Operates computer and standard office equipment such as telephone and copier/printer.
