ArrayComm, headquartered in San Jose , CA , is the world leader in commercial multi-antenna signal processing software. As wireless operators pursue revenue growth from services beyond voice, their demands for performance improvements from their wireless devices and networks are ratcheting ever higher.
ArrayComm is seeking an experienced engineer to work as part of the technical marketing organization to lead ArrayComm's WiMAX standards participation. The individual will be a key contributor to the development and successful execution of the company's standards strategy in relation to WiMAX. This position will lead ArrayComm's participation in one or more Standards Development Organizations or industry forums and may, when possible obtain a leadership role in one of those external organizations. While the main domain focus will be WiMAX, providing support to business development and R&D activities will also be required.
Provide internal management to one or more standards development projects, partnering with members of ArrayComm's R&D organization, to produce and support technical contributions to nationally and/or internationally recognized technical standards.
Provide advice and guidance internally to the further technical development of ArrayComm technology to facilitate its adoption by an external organization.
Provide support to business development and marketing activities with respect to standards-related issues.
Quantify product potential, risks and industry landscape
Req. candidate profile :
Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering and/or a field related to wireless communications
5+ years technical experience with a demonstrated expertise in wireless communications systems required with experience on OFDM based systems preferred
Experience participating in or leading standards development activities in the wireless communications industry. Participation in IEEE 802.16 and WiMAX Forums is a big-plus
Intimate understanding of the standards development process and a track record of success in standards development projects
Excellent communication and organizational skills
High level of self-motivation and ability to management multiple projects at one time
Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, up to 25-50% time
