ArrayComm, headquartered in San Jose , CA , is the world leader in commercial multi-antenna signal processing (MAS) software. As wireless operators pursue revenue growth from services beyond voice, their demands for performance improvements from their wireless devices and networks are ratcheting ever higher.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Product Development, the Vice President of Engineering will be a key player on ArrayComm's leadership team and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the overall technical direction of the Company. This individual will play a key role in growing a company with a clear and urgent market opportunity.The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader and "team builder". He or she will be able to motivate and lead a brilliant, experienced core group of engineers to implement ArrayComm's breakthrough technologies into a number of applications. This individual will have a track record of delivering world-leading products on-time, instilling processes, setting technical direction, and growing teams successfully.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Plan, prioritize and manage all aspects of the design and development of our products through release. This includes architecture, specifications, development, verification, and sustaining engineering
- Support existing development processes to ensure commitments are met. Products should meet all objectives. Delivery should be predictable, reliable and on-time
- Strategic planning and participation as a member of the company's leadership team
- Set technical direction for new products in conjunction with the Marketing, Research and Business Development organizations

| Req. candidate profile : |
- BSEE or related degree required, MSEE or MBA preferred
- 15+ years experience in engineering process & people management
- Recent Vice President or Sr. Director of Engineering in a successful embedded software, wireless or telecom company
- Industry Experience: Wireless, embedded software, DSP, OFDM, implementation of sophisticated algorithms into high performance DSP's, adaptive antenna processing, MIMO, DOCSIS desirable. Hardware and software experience preferred
- Career path that includes both significant roles at large, established companies and startups desirable
- Career progression from accomplished individual contributor to manager to Vice President preferred

Provides hands-on, day-to-day involvement in the business, without "micro managing". Execution Intelligence:
- Commits to and achieves objectives in a time and resource constrained environment. Track record of developing and delivering products on-time, on-budget and with high quality. Instills processes for deliverables and develops plans while minimizing process loss and planning time

- Experience working with executives and other departments, and has a reputation as a valued team player. Regularly communicates directly, openly, and honestly, even on "tough" issues. Works collaboratively. Inspires confidence in a high-powered board and current and future investors
Team Development
- Develops a cohesive team focused on a common set of goals. Plans organizational needs, attracts top talent and optimizes/leverages resources. Works with a team to develop a comprehensive project plan and achieve commitment to that plan. Must be an effective communicator. Experience managing an off-shore development team, or distributed development activities.
Technical Depth:
- Displays both breadth and depth of technical knowledge. Perceived as adding value to the development organization, as well as being a credible spokesperson among external constituents customers, partners, and future investors
Market Awareness:
- Ideally, should be familiar with the latest technical developments in the wireless space. Grounds all technical work in market reality. Must be responsive to customer requirements and feedback, and understand the issues associated with delivering products to carriers.
