The Training & Professional Development Manager is responsible for leading the development and delivery of training products focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality, leadership
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Training and Professional Development
- Conduct LGBT diversity trainings for corporate, non-profit, and governmental clients around the country. This includes both train-the-trainer sessions and general trainings.
- Direct Town Call program.
- Market and promote training to clients and potential clients.
- Work with the Institute Director to conduct curriculum reviews and instructional design and delivery for new LGBT training programs.
- Handle logistics for training programs, including travel arrangements and shipping of materials
- Work with the Institute Director and communications staff to develop and implement a marketing plan for training and education programs.
- Develop and implement instructional materials using technology tools to provide more effective trainings, including the use of the Internet and other technologies.
- Routinely research and assess the impact of current issues regarding LGBT individuals in the workplace.
- Work/collaborate with other departments on special projects that are related to Training & Professional Development.
- Update training curriculum on a regular basis, as needed.
- Develop new training and consulting products & services to meet needs of constituency.
- Train and supervise Speakers’ Bureau members and Certified Trainers.
- Lead train-the-trainer workshops to train Speakers’ Bureau members.
Workplace Summit
- Develop Pre-Summit offerings on leadership development, LGBT diversity training, and other topics. Lead Pre-Summit trainings, as necessary.
- Lead Summit workshop about LGBT diversity training program and other workshops, as necessary.
Institute Director Support
- Manage special projects related to Institute research.
- Coordinate events and meetings for the Institute.
- Others duties, as needed.

Additional Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree required
- 3-5 years previous experience in diversity training and conference/event planning
- Knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues in the workplace
- Experience working with corporate clients
- Marketing and sales experience preferred
- Positive outlook, enthusiasm, and high energy
- Self-motivated, with ability to lead, as well as to function as a dependable team player
- Superior organizational skills
- Proficiency with MSWord and PowerPoint software
- Excellent (oral/written/interpersonal) communication skills
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
