YWP is a multi-cultural organization that builds and supports teen women and girl leaders so that they can improve their own lives and transform their communities.
Position Summary:
The PHASE Manager will manage a staff of 3 in order to implement a multi-site training-leadership program, develop curricula, build relationships with public schools and community organizations, train and develop adult staff skills and capacities, develop and conduct training of trainers for teen staff, and meet ambitious participant learning objectives. Versatility is essential.
PHASE Manager responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Program Management:
Create and implement annual plans; develop systems to improve program operations and respond to problems; lead program planning process; prepare reports, records, and related program documents as required; manage program evaluation, tracking, and reporting systems; oversee teen project development; and build networks/maintain relationships with organizations and school personnel; Coordinate logistics, implementation, and evaluation for peer educator workshops at 3 sites (one site per semester); expand, refine PHASE curricula and lesson plans;
Training:
Provide training support for teen trainers for 5 hours a week; oversee teen training at all sites; conduct life skills training (for 8 days per semester);
Staff Management:
Hire, train, supervise, and develop PHASE program staff; provide coaching and individual support; conduct and expand training of trainers and other staff training; develop training and oversight structures for teen trainers,
Policy Development:
Working with teen staff, identify needed DC reproductive health policies and policy revision; work to get those policies passed and implemented; conduct research, work to educate DC City Council members, the School Board, the Mayors office, and others.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have strong management, leadership, and strategic planning skills, excellent communication and problem solving, energy, versatility, and the ability to prioritize demanding multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- 3-5 years of program management (including planning, design, implementation, evaluation)
- 3-5 years training experience including experience with youth leadership development
- 2 years experience working within educational institutions
- 2-3 yrs curriculum development experience
- 3-4 years of staff management and development experience
- 3-5 years experience working with youth, women, and with communities of color;
- 2 years experience with comprehensive sexuality education and women=s reproductive health;
- 2-3 years of youth organizing and/or policy and advocacy experience
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, and planning abilities, attention to detail, and organization skills
- Outstanding problem-solving & critical thinking skills, and written and verbal communication skills;
- Proven capacity to think on your feet; change on a dime; and adjust to changing and often challenging environments
- Loves and respects teen women
- Strong research, needs assessment, and data analysis skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, youth empowerment, anti-oppression, and holistic comprehensive sexuality education for youth
- Commitment to democratic process, teamwork, growth, and transparency.
- Understanding of DCPS and DC government
