The New York Botanical Garden a historic landmark, and one of New York City’s premier cultural institutions seeks a dynamic Director of Group Tours. The Director of Group Tours will develop, oversee, and execute a Group Tours business plan for The New York Botanical Garden.
Responsibilities:
Bring to bear and create business group tours leads from which to grow the group tour business. Strategically, aggressively, and cohesively create partnerships and opportunities to drive group business to the Garden. Attend key conferences and trade shows. Develop and execute all marketing initiatives regarding group tours, including but not limited to direct mail, advertising, telemarketing and phone reservations. The Director will be responsible for group tour income projections and group tour budgets; meeting and/or exceeding annual group income and visitation projections; reporting and analysis of aforementioned projections and budgets. Oversee a staff of 1.5, plus telemarketing staff in subsequent years.

Bachelor’s Degree. 3+ years of proven experience in the group tour industry required. Strong contacts and relationships in the group tour industry. Proficiency with data, numbers and Microsoft Office applications. Critical attention to details and systems. Strong analytical acumen. Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience managing staff. Available to work weekends and holidays.
