Job description
Job description: The Coordinator reports primarily to the Director, Artistic Programs, assisting in the planning and implementation of conducting and new music programs. The Coordinator reports to the Director, Leadership Training and Recruitment around the development and implementation of mentoring programs. Other tasks are assigned as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assists with planning and coordinating projects as well as preparing materials for selected seminars and workshops. Manages and maintains data for marketing, fundraising and archival purposes, including databases of program participants. Tracks selected program expenses.
  • Provides production and operational support for programs and onsite seminars as needed. Issues faculty/presenter contracts, payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Provides logistical support for several of the League’s award programs (ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming, Helen Thompson Award, etc.). Processes applications for selected programs, including the American Conducting Fellows Program, National Conductor Preview, Conducting Workshops, and Mentoring Circles. Corresponds with and serves as a key contact for applicants and program/workshop/seminar attendees.
  • Provides logistic and administrative support for Mentoring Circle calls.
  • Assists with recruiting and marketing efforts for select programs and activities surrounding the League’s National Conference. Duties include writing and editing copy, coordinating production schedules, organizing group e-mail, faxes, mailings, listservs, etc.
  • Serves as general information and communication resource for Learning and Leadership Development programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Req. candidate profile : Additional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two years work experience with an arts organization in a similar capacity. Musical knowledge, particularly about orchestras, preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills essential. Pleasant phone manner and ability to manage many different projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Attention to detail, tact, ability to prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision, flexibility, and ability to monitor and enforce project deadlines are all very important.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience using computers in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
