| Job description: |
Office Administrator for the New York office of the World Federation of United Nations Associations, a "Peoples’ Movement for the UN". We are an international non-profit organization with a worldwide membership of United Nations Associations. (www.wfuna.org). Our primary aim is to support the principles and ideals of the United Nations through advocacy, information sharing and education. This position is available 1 October 2007.
- Financial Accounting, manage the bills, tax audit and financial reports. Maintain general ledger, including cash receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, using Quickbooks.
- Assist with fundraising including collection of membership dues.
- Maintain filing system.
- Place and screen phone calls and direct messages to other staff as necessary.
- Calendar management and meeting coordination.
- Coordinate meetings for Executive Committee, including arranging meeting facilities, background materials, financial reports, and refreshments.
- Assist visiting members of UNAs, acquiring passes, registering for conferences, assisting with hotel accommodations, reserving meeting rooms, and sending support letters.
- Assist with the organizing of special events and projects.
- Order and stock office supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Req. candidate profile : |
- A Bachelors Degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years related experience as an administrator.
- Advanced computer literacy skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quickbooks.
- Accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience of working for or within the United Nations highly valued.
- Non-profit experience a plus.
- Fluency in English is essential and knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills, as well as excellent writing skills and verbal skills.
- Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse group of colleagues and Board members.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, to pay attention to detail and to work under the pressure of deadlines.
- Ability to work legally in the United States is required
