Research Assistant to work on Pennsylvania Statewide Tobacco Prevention and Control Program Evaluation. The Research Assistant will be working as part of a team and be involved in evaluation activities, specifically, the Research Assistant’s individual role will be to work with the Project Director.
Develop and implement data collection instruments;
Conduct library and Internet research;
Conduct personal interviews and focus groups;
Code, clean and analyze data;
Provide technical assistance in evaluation methods;
Assist with the preparation of progress reports, presentations, and publications;
Present findings; and
Assist in proposal writing.
Req. candidate profile :
Skills:
Good organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Data collection and analysis experience.
Computer-assisted data analysis and graphics skills using packaged programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Excel, Power Point); and
Knowledge of basic descriptive and inferential statistics.
Knowledge of tobacco control issues preferred.
Experience:
Education and/or experience in one or more of the following: health planning/policy, social science, evaluation research or other related areas;
Primary and secondary data collection;
Use of statistical and graphics software;
Experience with interviewing, fieldwork and qualitative research methods; and
Education Requirement:
BA/BS in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field.
