The Commonwealth Institute seeks a qualified candidate to increase the revenue of the organization by identifying and securing corporate sponsors and increasing the membership base, especially through the development of Commonwealth Forums for CEOs and corporate executives.
Responsibilities:
Sponsor and Member Development
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in raising funds through non-traditional means. The Commonwealth Institute is an excellent marketing/funding opportunity for corporate sponsors rather than from foundations or individual donations.
Spearhead all development activities through relationship building with corporate sponsors and creating & managing a comprehensive campaign. Work with Board and TCI friends to pursue their potential donor contacts at corporations.
Research and identify prospective sponsors
Increase sponsor commitments by at least 20% per year
Manage cultivation and solicitation process of prospective members
Help to build at least two new forums per year
Develop methods and systems for recruitment of new members
Work closely with Relationship Manager to identify and help create new programs to meet sponsor and member needs.
Explore partnerships and cross marketing opportunities with other organizations
Assist Executive Director in identifying geographic expansion opportunities and potential national sponsors
Contribute to overall strategic thinking of increasing sponsorship and membership commitments. As needed, prepare and present reports to Board on Corporate sponsorship progress and issues and to Membership Committee on membership recruitment.
Leadership Development Program
Work with Executive Director to identify potential organizations for leadership development programs and promote, sell TCI’s Strategies for Success program
Develop and implement ideas for additional products and curriculum for corporate audience
Special Events
Special events are an important component in our fundraising and relationship-development process.
The Relationship Manager will work with the staff and Board on identifying and recruiting potential sponsors for fundraising events and will also work in conjunction with staff on other logistics as needed to deliver a sophisticated event.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
5 years experience and progressive leadership in fundraising and business development
Strong business acumen. Must be articulate and able to communicate professionally
Evidence of strong leadership skills and creativity in developing new concepts and strategies and in strategic positioning
High degree of initiative and commitment to revenue growth and goal attainment. Self confident with enthusiasm and positive attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
