The Georgia Conservation Voters (GCV), a state-wide nonpartisan environmental advocacy organization with a strong political focus, seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Executive Director. The GCV is an alliance of the Georgia League of Conservation Voters (501(c)4), the GLCV Education Fund (501(c)3), and the GCV Action Fund (PAC) organizations which seeks to make protection of Georgia’s environment a top priority among candidates, public officials and voters. The successful candidate for the Executive Director will have strong leadership, fundraising, and management capabilities, including communications, listening, and organizational skills, as well as a passion for environmental issues. He/she will be a team builder with high personal integrity. The Executive Director will be hired by and report to the (c)4 Board of Directors, in close consultation with the (c)3 Board of Directors.
- Working with the boards to raise an annual budget of $400,000 plus, with particular responsibility for major donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Providing leadership, strategic thinking and management to further the organization’s vision, mission and organizational goals.
- Building and maintaining a strong and diverse board of directors.
- Managing overall budgets and financials, and implementing necessary business systems (i.e., budgeting, accounting, personnel policies, etc.)
- Hiring and supervising staff.
- Developing and implementing effective political, advocacy, and communications strategies.
- Working with the boards and stakeholders to develop and implement a long range strategic campaign plan to build reach, capacity and effectiveness in attaining goals.
- Developing and implementing a state-wide electoral strategy.
- Working collaboratively with other organizations and interest groups to advance the organization’s public policy agenda, including overseeing any potential lobbying activities during annual state legislative sessions and agency policy making.

| Req. candidate profile : |
- Superior leadership, strategic thinking, organizational and planning skills required.
- Strong communications, media, public speaking skills required.
- Major donor fundraising experience required.
- Experience building a small, high-performing, high-well-being organization required, including managerial and hiring experience.
- Non-profit management experience preferred.
- Issue and candidate political campaign experience preferred.
- Experience working with boards of directors preferred.
- Experience with environmental advocacy and environmental issues preferred.
- Lobbying/legislature experience desirable.
- Knowledge of or experience with Georgia environmental issues desirable.
