Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association (VLP) seeks an organized, flexible person to manage projects and provide administrative support. VLP represents low-income people in the Greater Boston area on a variety of civil legal problems, including housing, disability benefits, consumer issues, wills, and family law matters.
Administrative tasks and projects for staff members, including preparing letters, brochures and mailings.
Serve as backup receptionist as needed, when other staff is absent. Respond to Spanish-speaking callers and visitors as needed.
Coordinate system to obtain regular updates on all cases referred to volunteer lawyers.
Provide support to the Senior Partners for Justice and other special projects, including scheduling meetings and sending notices.
Maintain case and attorney databases, perform regular reports and data reviews.
Coordinate the newsletter sent to volunteer attorneys.
Keep web site current with new material.
Req. candidate profile :
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent administrative and organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and to coordinate efforts with colleagues
