Earthwatch Institute is an international environmental organization that engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. Our research program focuses on climate change, the sustainable management of resources, oceans, and communities in order to better understand critical environmental issues and inform and influence local agendas.
The Corporate Fellowship Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Corporate Fellowship Manager and other relevant Earthwatch HCP staff with the effective implementation of the HCP fellowship program in North and Latin America. The CFC will administer HSBC employee and local stakeholder recruitment, pre-expedition preparation, and post-expedition deliverables. The CFC will also play a role in administration of local volunteering projects as deemed appropriate. The CFC will be responsible for overseeing the participation of 125+/- HCP fellows per year on Earthwatch expeditions at the Regional Climate Centers in the USA and Brazil.
The ideal candidate for this position would demonstrate a professional experience, and a willingness to play a crucial role in a dynamic team. Candidates must be detail oriented, able to learn quickly and interested in taking on professional development opportunities.
- Interact with HSBC employees and other stakeholders in a highly professional manner to help execute the HCP at a consistently high level of excellence.
- Manage logistical details of the HCP fellowship program in North and Latin America, including: all fellowship preparation processes; creating grant project timelines; customized fellowship application forms; customized fellowship announcements for website; reading of applications and selecting fellow finalists; and generating correspondence to communicate fellowship status to all applicants; work with awarded fellows on their award benefits, project preferences and coordinate the reimbursement of travel stipends
- Help to design ,build, and be responsible for the maintenance of systems for collecting and tracking information on the HCP fellows
- Collaborate with the Corporate Fellowship Manager and other relevant Earthwatch HCP staff to promote program marketing and recruitment
- Write interim and post-program evaluations and reports as deemed appropriate.
- Internal coordination and collaboration across all Earthwatch departments to fulfill specific HCP deliverables, as designated by the Corporate Fellowship Manager, Regional Program Manager-Americas, and Director of Engagement.
- Participate in HCP events, at the annual Earthwatch conference, and at occasional evening events as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Req. candidate profile : |
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1 – 3 years of work experience, preferably in a business environment
- Corporate Social Responsibility experience desirable
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to identify problems and to develop creative, timely and efficient solutions
- Exceptional computer skills and a propensity for learning new technology programs: sufficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point and FileMaker Pro; knowledge of Microsoft Project desirable
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese and/or Spanish desirable
- Superb and demonstrated customer service skills
- Self-motivated, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
- Sense of humor, commitment to volunteerism, passion for the environment and desire to be part of a team
- Must be able to travel on occasion
