The Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Recruitment Specialist to meet our goals for growth in our teacher residency program. AUSL is a not-for-profit organization which runs a comprehensive, residency-based teacher preparation program which serves to attract, train, and retain the best teachers to serve in Chicago’s underperforming schools.
The Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for recruiting promising teacher candidates to our residency program.
Attend numerous job fairs as a representative of AUSL
Participate in numerous information sessions regarding the program at our school sites and out in the field
Visit and connect with community based organizations
Communicate extensively through phone/email with all candidates
Track data to ensure the recruitment process meets benchmarks
Participate in the preliminary process of applicant screening and selection
Engage AUSL staff out in the field into the recruitment process
Check references of qualified candidates
Assist with Recruitment advertising and web based job postings
Req. candidate profile :
Bachelor’s Degree required
Strong communication and organizational skills a must
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is required
Car and valid driver’s license required
Experience in the field of Education preferred
Commitment and passion for education reform initiatives
