Job description
Job description: Molaa's mission is to educate the public about contemporary Latin American fine art through the presentation of a significant permanent collection, dynamic exhibitions and related cultural and educational programs.

The Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) seeks an experienced Associate VP of Cultural Events to manage MoLAA’s cultural events program. Responsible for the production and execution of MoLAA’s yearly events calendar.


Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
  • Produces and executes a schedule of cultural events consistent with the Museum’s mission and exhibition schedule
  • Prepares the department’s budget, monitors revenue and expenditures.
  • Provides Executive Team with final revenue and cast breakdown for each event
  • Develops and implements marketing strategy for all cultural events
  • Determines event fees with the assistance of the Museum Director
  • Coordinates all event logistics
  • Negotiates and monitors a variety of contracts with individual artists, performance groups and other related contractors
  • Identifies in-kind donations for events
  • Supervises Special Events Assistant; identifies appropriate volunteer roles and supervises volunteers during events
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Req. candidate profile :
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Three to four years of successful experience with Latin American Cultural events preferred.
  • Must possess a deep understanding and knowledge of Latin American performing arts
  • Knowledge and understanding of permit requirements
  • Experiences booking performing artists, and writing contracts
  • Familiar with budgeting methods and procedures
  • Superior communication and writing skills
  • Ability to market and promote events
  • Ability to work effectively - both team environments and in self-directed situations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and plan work to maximize efficiency
  • Maintain positive personal relationships in a broad range of situations
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Bilingual in Spanish required
