We are currently recruiting for a Program Manager III Network Services for an opportunity located in Joliet, Illinois (located near I-80 and Route 30).
The Program Manager III - Network Services, is responsible for long-term strategic planning, design and operation of corporate networks to satisfy business requirements, capacity and stability, including planning for remote hardware and communications facilities.
-Development and implementation of methodologies for system analysis, installation and support.
-Defines and develops methodology to ensure compatibility of all network-related software, hardware products and services at each facility.
-Provides ongoing coordination in the analysis, acquisition and installation of remote hardware and software.
-May supervise Network Planning Analysts, consultants, vendors and contractors.
Responsibilities Include:
-Document recommendations in sufficient detail to facilitate system development and installation.
-Prepare evaluations and recommendations in formats consistent with requirements of Andrew management.
-Manage development and implementation of approved projects in a manner which minimizes costs and achieves objectives.
-Provide ongoing support to daily operations of the global voice, data and video networks, both directly and through the services of vendors.
-Maintain an ongoing dialogue with Andrew management relating to communication system opportunities.
-Maintain a current knowledge trends and standards within the telecommunications industries.
-Analyze proposed projects in terms of feasibility, basing recommendations on objective cost/benefit criteria and global access requirements.
-Document potential changes to the corporate communications network while focusing on network design considerations, corporate requirements, long term network integrity, and appropriate level of benefit.
-Program manage the activities of Telecommunication Analysts, consultants and contract programmers.
Qualifications:
-B.S. in Computer
Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent experience is required. Master degree preferred.
-Certification in any of the following is highly desired: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA), CheckPoint Certified Security Engineer (CCSE) and TCP/IP protocol.
-Requires 10 years of relevant experience in a supervisory or Program managerial capacity in areas relating to data and telecommunications.
-A strong knowledge of data, networks, voice and video communications required.
-Requires frequent inside (70%) and outside (30%) contact at executive levels. -Requires high degree of diplomacy and ability to negotiate with persons at all levels of authority.
-Requires simultaneous program management of multiple projects, ranging from routine to highly complex and difficult. Acceptable results will require initiative, broad judgment, integration of multiple fields of knowledge, and development of problem solutions for which there may be little precedent.
This job will typically be performed in the office environment. Domestic and overseas travel will be required. During major implementations, it may be necessary to work several shifts. Extensive mental and visual strengths are required. User contacts in this position may be intense, requiring close attention to detail over extended periods of time. What is in it for you?
