The American Thoracic Society is an independently incorporated, international, educational and scientific society which focuses on respiratory, critical care and sleep medicine. Today, the Society has approximately 18,000 members, 25 percent of whom are from outside the United States.
The Education Department of the American Thoracic Society has an opening for the Director, Education Products and Programs.
This position has major responsibility for the development and implementation of society medical education products and specific programs.
Work with service providers of web-based and print enduring materials, including all “conference capture,” production, and marketing of webcasts and related enduring materials, involving more than 350 presentations annually.
Direct planning and development of approved new society medical education products.
Direct development and implementation of at least two major education and training conferences annually.
Staff specific projects of various committees and task forces.
Req. candidate profile :
Minimum five years experience in the development and implementation of medical education products & programs.
Experience in ensuring that medical education products and programs meet accreditation body standards, such as the ACCME and AMA.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Written and oral communication skills in Spanish a plus.
Must be organized, abie to work independently, w/varying amounts of supervision.
Must be detail-oriented and dedicated to high quality performance and results. Excellent
computer skills required:
MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
Experience working with physicians and/or other health professionals a plus.
