Job description: Business Analyst – NY/NJ metro area

We are seeking a career minded analyst to work with global clients on financial software. You will be working in an exciting environment with leading edge technology in one of the largest accounting technology firms of its kind in the world! Candidates should be flexible to work non-standard hours and travel internationally.

Responsibilities:

Assist in managing the product/service line through preliminary analyses of diverse requirements of multiple countries.
Work with clients to understand requirements to improve product/service.
Assess and recommend system changes based on client needs.
Assist with preparation of business cases.
Work with the team to classify and prioritize defects and make decisions based on the assessment.
Provide guidance and analytical expertise on enhancement requests.
Analyze cross-functional impacts of changes and identify potential impact of new releases to other products and/or services.
Coordinate delivery of product updates/enhancements with technical team.
Act as a primary escalation point on product or service-related issues.
Enforce strategic product direction set by the Product Manager.
Design and develop functional requirements.
Support both the deployment and on-going activities for product/service line.
Manage the life cycle of defects and enhancements.
Review end user documentation and training material.
Provide subject matter expertise during workshops and other training sessions.
Requirements:

College degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
5-7 years exp. in a medium to large environment, performing business analysis, sales and marketing, business development, and/or project systems management.
Direct experience in medium to complex management activities, such as business development and application development/deployment.
Experience in project management training, practical application, business analysis, sales, marketing, business development or relationship management.
Experience in use/operation of financial software (Peoplesoft, SAP, or Oracle Billing and Accounts Receivable applications preferred).
Excellent interpersonal, client service, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to work and team effectively with clients and other central team members, and possibly supervise some team members.
Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring all points of view are considered before reaching a decision.
Ability to react appropriately in crisis situations.
Sound research and analytical skills.
Ability to provide detailed documentation and report writing, and work in a self-managed environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and Lotus Notes applications, and knowledge of MS Project.
