- Assist in preparation of operating budgets for engineering/maintenance familiar with Red Deer Lodge policies and procedures on purchases
- Set goals, standards and solutions, meeting deadlines that are beneficial to guests, associates and the hotel
- Recognize and reward top performance while being caring and considerate of others, maintain enthusiasm and celebrate success
- Implement, oversee and direct preventative maintenance programs on a continual basis
- Responsible for the effective supervision and time management of required maintenance activities and ensures the efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ensures all duties and projects will be carried out in a timely and safe manner while maintaining clean and organized work space
- Will be knowledgeable in an active member of Health & Safety training throughout the hotel
- Responsible for hiring, training and developing all maintenance associates this includes completing quarterly performance evaluations and corrective action in accordance with Red Deer Lodge policies & procedures
- Respond to guest and department requests and/or complaints
- Maintain facilities and equipment conducting inspections on a regular basis, determining need and extent of service, equipment required, type of operation, and personnel needed
- Coordinate with external contractors, ensure proper certification, WCB, insurance and public liability prerequisites are complied to when applicable
- Keep all mechanical, electrical and structural blueprints and diagrams up to date; maintain library of parts list, maintenance manuals, reference books, and catalogs
- Ensure adherence to applicable laws by meeting with government and insurance inspectors, performing any follow ups as required
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve GSI and CSI goals
- Safeguard customers, associates and hotel assets in the event of an emergency implementing emergency procedures
- Direct and aid in purchase and replacement of those systems that become inadequate or obsolete
- Recommend, establish and maintain inventory levels based on budget and availability
- Develop and promote energy conservation programs by continually monitoring utility costs and consumption
- Maintain logs and journals for all hotel utilities; review meter readings and regulate controls
- Design and supervise recycling and disposal programs
- Perform any technical emergency repairs as required; inform immediate supervisor for approval if other action is required
- Active member of all Department Head and Quarterly Meetings
- Hold Departmental Communication meetings using the format set out by the Red Deer Lodge
- Ensure completion of all duties, projects and tasks assigned utilizing time management skills
- Perform other duties as requested and required
