Senior Financial Accounting Systems Analyst - 00B40

Description
The Senior Financial Accounting Systems Analyst trains and oversees the functions of subordinates; analyzes the impact of the Chart of Accounts changes and business rules; serves as a system liaison between the functional and technical team members; and is responsible for system configuration, data flow, data retrieval, reporting, communicating and troubleshooting (identifying, analyzing, and resolving) systems issues while maintaining system integrity. The function of this role will cross over between accounting and systems. This professional also assists the firm's financial community in the month-end and year-end closing process; provides guidance and assistance to internal clients in analysis, reconciliation, data retrieval, system flow and reporting requirements; identifies areas where efficiencies can be achieved through automation; creates applications to automate manual processes; and represents the interest of the corporate national finance group in meetings.
Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, train and oversee the functions of subordinates.
Verify the integrity of the financial system, identify any discrepancies and communicate them to module owners.
Provide specifications for system enhancements and defect resolutions.
Participate actively in testing the results of program enhancements, customizations, and defect resolutions.
Analyze the impact of changes in Chart of Accounts values and business rules within the financial systems.
Maintain Business Rules and Chart of Accounts’ values in corporate general ledger system.
Verify the accuracy of configuration migrations and identify problems with validation tables.
Review journal entries for completeness; process adjustments to system-generated entries.
Use various reporting and analytical tools for data mining and ad-hoc reporting.
Identify areas where efficiencies can be achieved through automation, and create supporting applications.
Provide input into subordinates' performance reviews.
Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:
• a bachelor's degree in a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
• approximately 2-4 years of related work experience
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• strong supervisory and teamwork skills
• proficiency in various computer applications pertaining to financial and accounting systems
