The Atchison Juvenile Correctional Facility is a 24-hour, residential minimum security facility for young men who are sent to the facility after being placed in the custody of the Commissioner of the Juvenile Justice Authority by the Kansas District Courts. In addition to the full-time staff, the AJCF encourages volunteer activities, utilizing resources from the community.
The Atchison Juvenile Correctional Facility is a 24-hour minimum security residential facility for adjudicated male youth that are placed in the custody of the Juvenile Justice Authority.
Job duties:
This position is responsible for the safety and security of those youth. Some duties would include: escorting youth to and from school, dining hall and their living units, restraining juveniles using approved techniques, transporting youth to doctor's appointments, court appearances and other facilities. Good oral and written communications skills is a must for logging and documentation purposes.
Req. candidate profile :
Job Requirements include: must be 21 years old, have a Highschool diploma/GED equivalency, free of felony conviction, free of misdemeanor A and/or B convictions for five years, be free of misdemeanor convictions involving domestic battery after July 1, 1971, be able to pass a written test, drug screen, background security test and physical agility test.
