| Job description: | Exciting & challenging full-time/permanent opportunity immediately available in midtown Manhattan for a Project Manager/Sr. Business Analyst with Financial Services experience. You will be working in the Investment Banking division of an international Financial Services firm & be provided the unique opportunity to carve out your own work load and career path.
As this is a brand new group you will essentially be able to choose and assume ownership of several of this group’s two dozen plus lines of business, which will enable you the opportunity to gain a comprehensive knowledge within those selected lines of business. *NOTE: As this is a new group you MUST be motivated & a self-starter as you'll need to hit the ground running & be able to work effectively in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment. This is an excellent opportunity to interface with the Front Office & enhance your Securities knowledge in a multitude of Financial Instruments & Business Lines, but you must be prepared to completely manage a project from start to finish & have the skill set & flexibility in order to do so in a fast-moving environment, which in addition to process management & optimization will sometimes require that you actually create process & structure where there isn't any. | Job duties: | As a Project Manager you will establish rapport with executives, set up processes, own net-new projects, & be responsible for engaging the various technology groups for the appropriate project resource allocations.
Additionally you will conduct project kick-off meetings to communicate individual roles and project expectations to the team to ensure that all project team members understand the project scope. You will also take the lead in gathering user/client requirements and writing/producing clear project documentation such as: business requirements, scope documents, project risk assessments, project status reports, risk logs, project plans, etc. Further responsibilities include monitoring projects throughout the project life cycle on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, managing the issue resolution process & taking corrective action as necessary. Additionally your role will include analyzing existing business processes, identifying client issues associated with these processes & matching these issues to available technologies. |
| Req. candidate profile : | REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of combined Business, Project management & IT experience. Financial Services experience is a MUST & Investment Banking experience is a big plus. Experience working with projects in multiple technologies, functions (e.g. compliance, risk management etc.) and industries. You must be a self-starter, resourceful and a persistent person who is skilled at getting results, often from senior colleagues or from project team members who are not working directly in your group/division. You should be comfortable working in a virtual environment with vendors, clients, & technical colleagues based in other locations around the world, as well as have a demonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships. Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and have the ability to explain complex technical issues and risks to non-technical people. In addition you will need to be able to clearly translate business requirements to technical colleagues. Must have strong knowledge of both MS-Excel & MS-Project. Knowledge of reporting tools such as Crystal Reports is a plus. Project Management Certification a plus. MS-Visio is a big plus. |
