POSITION SUMMARY:
Manage professional insurance agents in their day-to-day activities with the objective of selling and retaining new business premium, all within stated underwriting guidelines. The supervisor must be proficient in all areas of coaching, agent development and problem solving. The responsibilities include but are not limited to staffing help desk, expertise in our online quote system and being able to provide timely support to agents in regards to underwriting guidelines and company policies, and to always foster an environment where recognition and encouragement are a daily part of the culture.
BUSINESS OBJECTIVES:
Coaching/Training:
Uses in-depth knowledge of appropriate sales techniques to motivate sales agents to sell new business. Assists in identifying coaching needs, recommends and provides the appropriate training and coaching to improve results. Monitors help desk as assigned, both phone and e-mail. Oversees sales floor for schedule adherence and directly works with Sales Manager to identify areas of improvement, recognition and career path counseling.
Production:
Manages a team of agents to meet and exceed the company’s business objectives. Identifies areas of improvement through analysis, recommends solutions, implements solutions and monitors results. With the use of various benchmarking utilized by the company, implements solutions that will enhance the customer experience to increase productivity. As a goal exceeds all production standards of performance (SOP), as a minimum meets SOP.
Quality and Retention:
Expert in knowledge of company forms, methods, and workflow procedures. Is conversant in the area of product knowledge. Handles all escalated calls with customer and achieves satisfaction objectives. Identifies areas of improvement through analysis, recommends solutions, implements solutions and monitors results. As a goal exceeds all production standards of performance (SOP), as a minimum meets SOP.
Attrition:
Maintains the desired level of headcount to meet the company’s new business objectives. Effectively manages staff by utilizing the company’s coaching and progressive disciplinary action procedures as defined in the Dependability Policy document. Creates an environment where recognition and encouragement is a daily part of the culture.
Projects:
Sales Supervisors will be expected to actively participate in various projects, meet required timelines and deadlines to ensure timely completion of all projects. Sales Supervisors are to continually look at current systems and processes to improve the organizations results.
Qualifications Required:
1. Bachelors Degree with a major in business or management required or a minimum 5 years experience directly related to the specified job responsibilities.
2. A minimum of three (3) years prior sales and/or training experience.
3. Prior supervisory experience in a direct-to-consumer call center environment preferred.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of the insurance industry preferred.
5. Requires Insurance designation, i.e., INS Certificate, AIS, etc or will actively pursue upon hire.
6. Property & Casualty Licenses in all applicable states
7. Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task in a customer based environment.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential.
