Due to our continued growth and success we are currently seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer for the Identification and Safety Products Division in Cumming, GA. This division’s products include lockout/tagout devices, tags and accessories, printers, labeling and a wide variety of safety and facility products.
Job duties: · Develop prototypes for performance testing to meet product specifications.
· Designing and testing product concepts and/or final models for functionality and conformance to product specifications.
· Investigation of new product opportunities.
· Assist in determining the viability, probable cost and payback to the corporation.
· Research of new materials to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing costs.
· Improve existing designs to enhance product performance and quality.
· Initiate production and customer drawings as required.
· Provide technical support to manufacturing groups as needed.
Req. candidate profile : · BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, required.
· 3-5 years of experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical products. Plastic component design and injection molding experience, preferred.
· Plastic, sheet metal and machined part design experience, highly desired.
· Excellent communication skills. Must be able to work closely with other engineers, lab technicians, product management and customers.
· CAD experience with 3D part design, Unigraphics preferred.
