Summary: Gateway is looking for an experienced technical writer to research, plan, write and create instructional content and graphics. Content will be designed for internal agents and external customers on how to resolve technical issues. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong self-starter who enjoys developing innovative user assistance solutions. The Technical Writer role will require a creative thinker who can work with the business units, engineering team and data analysis to assess critical content needs. This is a fast- growing team, full of people who are energized by our huge opportunity to make a direct impact on customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
•Author, update, and edit written technical materials such as technical solution documents, white papers, and decision trees.
•Analyze call center data and work closely with engineering, business units and Program Managers to identify gaps and create, enhance, and edit new or legacy content.
•Develop sustainable content based on business needs and objectives.
•Create content in a way that captures the Gateway Style, tone, voice and purpose.
•Ensure technical content and illustrations are agent-friendly, customer-friendly, and adhere to quality standards.
Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:
•Must have at least 2-4 years experience in a technical writing environment.
•Excellent writing, editing, proofing, presentation and communication skills a must.
•Expert level attention to detail
•Good understanding of computer hardware and software concepts.
•Excellent interpersonal skills are required with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
•An understanding of the classic rules of usage and a familiarity with major style guidelines, especially Chicago Style, as well as an understanding of audience segmentation.
•Must thrive in a challenging and intense work environment with ability to drive process change, innovation, and effectively execute, delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.
•Must be proficient in analyzing various types of data to determine top call drivers for hardware and software related issues.
Education/Certification:
•Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Journalism or related field.
