Job description
Job description: 1. Manage the operation of the Plastics Application lab.
a. Set priorities and assign personnel to handle workload
b. Manage customer technical services, such as customer visits and applications, and ensure quality and promptness of technical support to customers and marketing.
c. Establish performance criteria and measurements for the Danbury Lab and Regional Technical Centers. Report results to director.
d. Ensure high quality oral and written communications between lab, customer service, field force, ATG, customer, and management.
e. Manage the incoming application database. Provide management data on incoming and completed applications by month, market, region and others.
f. Manage Worldwide Applications Database. Coordinate training, upgrades, and loading of data.
2. Responsible for the checkout of all tooling made in ATG. This includes all evaluations, lab reports, and documentation for internal and customer use.

3. Create Application Briefs and Technologs for field and customer use.

4. Provide technical training for all RTC's, field sales, new Danbury personnel, and customers in plastic welding.

5. Provide input on specifications for new and existing products.

6. Evaluate the performance of new products and report findings to R&D and Marketing staff.

7. Study published technology in plastics assembly and remain abreast of competitive products and technical services.

8. Develop and maintain plastics assembly and materials database.

9. Manage technical development of plastic welding processes and plastic applications. Develop new welding techniques and improve on existing techniques. Evaluate new material welding performances.

10. Coordinate all aspects of our in-house and field training seminars for Theory & Design and Setup & Service. This includes the scheduling and presenting of these programs.

11. Responsible for all aspects of applications and training departmental budgets.

12. Involve BUC Advanced Engineering functions with key research functions.

13. Manage day-to-day "Team: activities, including: Administrator, Applications Lab, ATG Engineering, ATG Customer Service, Tooling Evaluation.
Job duties: Manage the Applications Labs for both the Applied Technology Group and Tooling Group.

Manage the training functions for the Applied Technology Group.

Provide direct support to the Regional Technical Centers.
Req. candidate profile : Education:
BS Mechanical Engineering

Skills/Technical Knowledge/Experience:
Minimum of 10+ years experience in plastic welding applications as well as problem solving/analytical skills, technical writing skills, interpersonal and public speaking skills.

High level technical skills (mechanical, electrical) and ability to interface with customers and engineers on a highly complex level.

Thorough working knowledge of drafting techniques and good mechanical aptitude.

Minimum of 5 years of supervisor experience preferred.

Requires, plastics; polymers and processing; ultrasonics and vibration welding theory and applications techniques.
