Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Purchasing Manager position.
The position description is as follows:
Directs the purchasing department.
Ensures the staff is trained on company policies and procedures and the New York Lottery regulations.
Responsible for obtaining competitive bids on all goods and services submitted on approved purchase requisitions.
Recommends vendors and places the order with selected vendor in accordance with company policy.
Communicates the status of any order pending with respective departments.
Promotes positive public and employee relations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ensures purchasing and vendor licensing is conducted in accordance with New York Lottery regulations.
Communicates effectively with departments on purchasing issues and compliance with company purchasing policy.
Essential Duties:
Assists in preparing and obtaining quotations, processing requisitions and issuing purchase orders.
Reviews bid proposals.
Keeps informed and evaluates new products available on the market and market conditions that would affect present and future purchases.
Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations.
Supervises, directs, trains and develops employees within department.
Assists in preparation of department budget.
Recommends procedures for department.
Attends periodic meetings and training sessions.

Requirements:
Work/Educational Experience:
Minimum three years related experience.
Must be organized, detail oriented and also have strong communication and delegation skills.
Must be a team player.
Minimum 18 years old and be able to obtain appropriate license pursuant to New York State Lottery regulations.
Physical and Mental:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Frequently requires working long hours.
Must have excellent PC skills.
Ability to create, read and analyze spread sheets of statistical data.
Ability to make independent decisions.
Ability to effectively formulate and communicate ideas.
Starting Salary: $60,000 / Year
