POSITION SUMMARY:
Answer incoming calls to assist policyholders with product and account information. Analyze and rectify customer concerns using established guidelines and procedures. May use computer to access and/or update customer records. Continuously increase knowledge of organization, operating system, product and/or services as well as underwriting guidelines. Continue to develop customer service skills while becoming familiar with departmental goals, procedures and policies. Adherence to established schedule/telephone expectations a must, while producing quality results. Must be flexible and at all times remain professional with a positive attitude.



OBJECTIVES:

Customer Service:
Review policyholder information and explain to customers their Property & Casualty Insurance, state requirements and procedures in a professional and efficient manner. Handle all questions regarding coverages, premium rates and policy language, etc… via telephone contact, written correspondence, or email. Listen to policyholder, identify needs and take ownership of problems. Work with all departments to resolve the problem and offer viable solutions to customer while promoting the company brand and product. Obtain all necessary information to process policy changes and ensure the rating integrity of each new business application or endorsement. Take payments over the telephone, review bill schedule and transaction history informing customers of the effect of changes or payments made. Make required follow up calls within appropriate time frame. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by completing required CE credits and attending insurance related courses.

Quality:
Understand company forms, methods, and workflow procedures. Is conversant in the area of product knowledge. Handle all calls and inquires in a professional and efficient manner with a positive attitude. Verify all contact information on file for policyholders is correct. Thoroughly and accurately document each contact and enter comments in all appropriate systems. Consistently meet or exceed quality objective set forth in the Customer Service Standards of Performance (SOP).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

·Bachelor’s degree or minimum three (6) years experience in personal lines Underwriting, Sales and/or Customer Service, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·Property & Casualty Licenses in applicable states

·Requires good verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a team-oriented approach.

·Proficiency with MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires extensive use of keyboard involving repetitive motions with fingers, sitting for prolonged periods of time, and extensive use of the telephone and face-to-face communication that requires accurate perception of speech as well as talking and hearing. The position frequently requires the ability to visit employee workstations and other work areas. The position requires close vision, distant vision, and the ability to adjust focus. There is moderate noise in the work environment.
