Responsibilities:
You will manage and participate in engineering projects as well as evaluate project progress and results to assure that goals are met. Prepare and present reports, outlining the outcome of projects and make recommendations for further work. Coordinate with all affected parties, prototyping, and vendor activity.
You will create and use product specifications, descriptions, and test results to initiate conceptual and breadboard phases. Use conventional and computer aided design and drafting techniques. Work with Engineering Manager or Vice President to develop new product specifications and schedules. Implement conceptual designs and feasibility studies.
Responsible for the design and development of product subsystems with emphasis toward designs that enhance the product, improve manufacturability, and reduce cost.
Manage product compliance testing for both new and existing product. Analyze test data and report to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Refine designs based on prototype testing and prepare manufacturing documentation.
Design and develop procedures and tests, build test fixtures to insure that products are built to the highest quality standards. Plan and develop experimental test programs.
Support existing released products; may work with Marketing and Technical Services to assist customers. Refine designs based on prototype testing and direct support personnel in preparation of manufacturing documentation.
You will provide guidance to, and may supervise, on a project bases, the efforts of other team members.
Keep detailed records of all work.
To perform this job successfully you must be able to synthesize complex or diverse information and collect and research data. Possess ability to generate creative solutions and use feedback to modify designs; apply design principles and demonstrate attention to detail.
Prospective candidate must have strong mathematical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to present numerical data effectively. Experience in design software, development software, Excel, Word and advanced programmable logic design required.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 7- 10 years related design and development experiment. Minimum of 2 years experience in project/technical leadership role.
