Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Director of Security position.
The position description is as follows:
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Director of Security is responsible for all activities of the Security Department, including hiring, training and disciplining employees, ordering equipment, developing policies and procedures, and directing all security activities to ensure safe and effective operations. The Director of Security performs all the duties of a Security Officer to ensure that the security needs of guests, employees, and assets are met. These duties include, but are not limited to, handling irate customers, diffusing conflict, calling in back-up support or proper authorities as appropriate. This position must report any unusual activities of co-workers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for the Security Department.
- Uses effective communication with staff, customers, and other departments.
- Checks daily logs of other officers, incident, and other reports.
- Creates summary reports.
- Directs the activities of the Security staff, including handling of emergencies. Ensures that supervisors and officers are trained and coaches the staff on their shifts appropriately.
- Supervises effective and quick response to emergencies that arise, including coordinating activities with Surveillance, the General Manager and other departments.
- Reports significant events to supervisor.
- Protects premises and patrols premises for unusual occurrences and for security, making routine rounds.
- Must possess knowledge of 10-codes language.

Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Criminology, management, or related field preferred.
- Must possess good computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Work and Microsoft Excel are required.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Two years previous experience in the military, security, law enforcement, or other formal security training a plus and at least one year supervisory experience, preferably in the gaming industry.
- CPR and First Aid certification must be received within ninety days of employment.
- Valid New Mexico Drivers License required.
