Casino Careers Online has a client seeking a candidate for a Purchasing Manager position.
The position description is as follows:
Compiles information and records and prepares purchase orders for procurement of materials. Devotes time to obtaining most advantageous price and cost-efficient process for purchases of all materials.
Supervises Purchasing Clerks and Receiving Clerks.
- Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests;
- Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity;
- Consults catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications;
- Frequently obtains competitive pricing on food and beverages;
- Maintains relationship with key suppliers and monitors relationships carefully to ensure best pricing and quality of goods;
- Maintains good relationships with operating departments to ensure adequate products according to departmental specifications, are available at all times;
- Types or writes invitation of bid forms and mails forms to supplier firms or for public posting;
- Ensures vendors licenses are issued to each vendor, prior to ordering;
- Writes or types purchase order and sends copy to supplier and department originating request;
- Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories;
- Computes total cost of items purchased;
- Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries;
- Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers or mail order firms;
- Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment;
- Prepares work schedules for Purchasing Clerks and Receiving Clerks;
- Adheres to all regulatory, departmental, and hotel resort policies and procedures, and to the MICS;

Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years job-related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Food and Beverage pruchasing experience required.
Excellent aptitude in accurately completing calculations and following strict procedures is important.
Congenial disposition and team player attitude required.
Must have good organizational skills and communication skills.
Salary Range:$30,000 to $40,000 annual salary
