The Program Associate will serve as staff for Seedco’s EarnBenefits® initiative in Buffalo/Erie County to help low-wage workers access income-enhancing benefits and work supports. EarnBenefits is a multi-tiered approach to providing low-wage workers and their families with the resources needed to achieve continuous employment, skill enhancement, and economic self-sufficiency. EarnBenefits will work in partnership with government agencies to educate staff and individuals about the public benefits and community resources available to low-wage workers; facilitate access to benefits for qualifying workers and their families; and help families maintain their benefits and access the services that build assets and promote financial stability. The position will require a 2-3 month training period in New York City. |
| Job duties: |
Responsibilities include:
• Working with program partners to define goals and create performance tracking systems
• Training program partners on the effective use of EarnBenefits products
• Providing ongoing technical assistance and support to ensure achievement of programmatic outcomes
• Development of websites, marketing materials, and other program related materials
• Developing and disseminating information to internal and external audiences
• Researching benefits and services to be included in website and software system
Qualifications
• Graduate degree required, MBA or MPA preferred
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of public benefit programs for low-wage workers
• Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal and communications skills a must.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience working with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and/or community groups a must
• Position is based in Buffalo and will require some traveling
