The Program Associate will serve as staff for Seedco’s EarnBenefits initiative in Baltimore to help low-wage workers access income-enhancing benefits and work supports. EarnBenefits is a multi-tiered approach to providing low-wage workers and their families with the resources needed to achieve continuous employment, skill enhancement, and economic self-sufficiency. EarnBenefits activities include educating individuals, community groups, small businesses, and others about the public benefits and community resources available to low-wage workers; building the capacity of partner organizations to facilitate access to benefits for qualifying workers and their families; and developing new benefit and work support products to meet the needs of the low-wage workforce. The position will require 3 months training period in New York City. |
| Job duties: |
Responsibilities include:
• Working with partners to define goals and create performance tracking systems
• Product development of benefit enrollment guides, websites, and related materials
• Training partners on effective use of program products
• Developing and disseminating information to internal and external audiences
• Researching benefits to be included in database and facilitated enrollment software system
Qualifications
• Graduate degree required, MBA or MPA preferred
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of public benefit programs for low-wage workers
• Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal and communications skills a must.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community groups and/or government programs a must
• Position is based in Baltimore and will require some traveling
