| Job description: | Database Engineering Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide enterprise level database expertise and leadership for database design and development issues Develop data model describing data elements and how they are used Design and perform logical and physical database/data warehouse models for new products. Create and maintain secure data conduits to both Owner Advocate clients and vendors Prepare optimized database structure and configuration for high-performance through analysis and optimization of current database structure. Work closely with other team members on the development and design of the system infrastructure. Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. Test, develop and maintain the functionality of the present database infrastructure. Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in databases and computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to information systems, such as the installation of new databases Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for upper management Train users and answer questions Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations |
| Req. candidate profile : | Bachelor's degree in MIS/CS or other analytical field or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience as database developer using MS SQL 2000 MS SQL Server 2005 experience is a bonus Enterprise experience and expert in data modeling and logical and physical design and implementation. Experience in ETL for data migration and cleansing using T-SQL, stored procedures, DTS and replication Expert in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, user defined functions, index and query tuning and extensive knowledge of DTS packages Experience with Data Warehouse development, dimensional modeling, OLAP technologies is preferred Knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, ADO, XML and Windows programming. OOP MS/Unix tools preferred. Strong teamwork and communication skills, proven ability to work in partnership with development team members, demonstrate good documenting style. |
