Are you a passionate, multi-talented individual with a desire to help launch an exciting new organization dedicated to entrepreneurial innovation? Are you that rare type of professional who possesses technical knowledge, project management skills, and design dexterity? If so, our client wants you. We’re looking for a Director to lead the new research division of our client. We’re not looking for a Development Manager, though. We need a designer who can create brand identities, web application interfaces, and mock-ups, then turnaround and implement screens in HTML and CSS, and guide projects through development using Rails (RoR). We need someone interested in researching and building high-value, innovative web applications using the latest web technologies (rapid application development frameworks, cloud services, and AJAX). This new division will consist of a small group of remote web developers that will collaborate virtually to conceptualize, prototype and produce disruptive web services and applications for multiple markets, with a primary focus on providing valuable services to entrepreneurs. Leading a small team of remote developers you’ll collaborate with your team like a start-up company, rapidly generating ideas, developing prototypes, and building full applications. With the resources of a fast-growing company at your disposal, you'll have the freedom to move between projects knowing customer support, marketing and network operations are in good hands. The Director of Labs has a truly unique opportunity to capitalize on the resources of our client while operating in a dynamic and creative work environment. Responsibilities · Perform detailed research during vetting process for potential Labs projects · Recruit, motivate and grow a team of Rails developers · Disseminate tasks across multiple teams with diverse skill sets · Oversee creation and documentation of coding standards and conventions for all applications · Oversee and participate in the development of prototypes and fully-functional web-based applications · Guide the development of brand identity for new applications · Ensure positive user experience, interface design and optimization for all applications · Lead brainstorming exercises with key staff members to generate product ideas · Collaborate with other team leaders to coordinate sharing of resources · Report division progress to CTO |
| Req. candidate profile : | Qualifications
