Responsible for teaching developmental reading courses.
Teaching assignment may include evening classes, weekend classes, distance learning classes, and dual-credit classes on the main campus or at off-campus sites.
Summer classes may be available for assignment.
Other duties include:
But are not limited to serving on college committees; professional development; attending college-sponsored events and activities, providing academic counseling and advising to students; evaluating student academic performance; keeping accurate records; developing curriculum; and other duties as assigned.
Req. candidate profile :
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 18 undergraduate hours in particular teaching discipline.
Masters degree with a minimum of 18 graduate level hours in English preferred.
Reading specialization preferred.
Experience working with remedial students preferred.
Special-education teaching background a plus.
Experience in community college teaching preferred.
Willingness to utilize technology and computerized instructional methods.
Strong human relations skills and student-oriented.
