Research expectations:
Develop a strong, independent, externally funded, nationally recognized research program on traceback of food contaminating microbes and/or the colonization of plant tissues by human pathogens, with a focus on forensic applications. Work should relate to mechanisms of microbial contamination, environmental influences, patterns or pathogen dissemination and movement, pathogen detection and strain discrimination, diagnostics, and epidemiological modeling, using systems related to crops and plant resources in Oklahoma and the southern plains. Research responsibilities include mentoring graduate students.
Teaching expectations:
Contribute to undergraduate and graduate courses on agricultural biosecurity; teach a graduate course in area of expertise related to food safety and forensic science, to be offered on an annual basis and/or via distance education methods for use by traditional and non-traditional students. Train and mentor graduate students.

| Req. candidate profile : |
Requirements:
Earned doctorate in food safety, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, plant pathology or closely related field. Preference given to candidates having significant postdoctoral experience, a strong record of publications and grants, teaching experience, and outstanding oral and written communication skills.
