Washington & Jefferson College is currently recruiting for an Associate Vice President for Business. The Associate Vice President for Business will provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals that support the budgeting, forecasting, cash management, debt management, property management, and purchasing of the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The AVP for Business is also responsible for: analyzing ongoing business practices and recommending actions to improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs; providing oversight to the College's formal initiatives to seek opportunities to increase revenues and decrease expenses; supporting the College's strategic financial planning process; and providing leadership and direction to the Office of Conferences and Events and Bookstore operations and Business Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's degree is required. The undergraduate degree must be in accounting, finance or related field, unless a graduate degree in a business-related field was earned; at least 10-15 years of progressively responsible financial management experience; demonstrated skills in collaboration and partnership, and in working effectively in a collegial environment in which information is shared and decisions are made in a collaborative fashion, guided by the vision of the President and Senior Staff; experience working effectively with financial consultants, independent auditors, investment managers, credit rating agencies, commercial bankers, investment bankers, etc.; sound working knowledge of non-profit accounting regulations, procedures, accounting and reporting requirements; effective project management experience; demonstrated exceptional leadership and supervisory abilities; sound and effective judgment to engender trust and positively influence a broad and diverse group of constituents; demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills, oral and written communication skills, meeting leadership and presentation skills; ability to initiate, manage, and implement actions in support of College strategies and influence outcomes in support of College objectives; and ability to think in innovative ways regarding financial matters that impact the College. A master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field, and/or a CPA certificate are preferred; Fund Accounting; Datatel Software experience a plus.
