This individual will conduct research related to school and community-based interventions that promote positive youth development and reduce risk behaviors. Of particular interest is the intersection of health and physical activity with behavioral, psychological and clinical factors related to success in adolescence (e.g., achievement, peer relations, civic participation, health and well being). The successful candidate is expected to provide leadership for a pan-University effort to study interventions and developmental and ecological assets that promote positive youth development and the prevention of risk-taking behaviors.
Req. candidate profile :
The successful candidate will have:
Doctoral degree in relevant discipline;
Established line of funded research in adolescent development, and/or physical activity/exercise;
Experience leading multidisciplinary research teams;
Experience mentoring doctoral students.
We are especially interested in candidates with sustained engagement with communities that are underrepresented and with demonstrated ability to integrate this asset into teaching and scholarship at the university level.
