Responsible for the enrollment management of all international students at Point Park University. This responsibility includes the recruitment, retention, and the graduation of all international students. This task is to be completed by performing the following functions: recruit international students based on a plan set forth by the Provost and the Dean of Student Affairs, advise international students in proper course selection for successful degree completion, serve as chief immigration advisor to the college community on international student matters, conduct orientation programs for international students, and coordinate all domestic student study abroad opportunities.
DUTIES:
Recruitment & Enrollment Responsibilities:
- Recruit international students in accordance with University goals and initiatives via active and passive recruiting strategies, including but not limited to direct calling, hard-copy and electronic mailings, Internet campaigns, membership to professional organizations, and possibly some limited international travel.
- Meet with, provide information and conduct presentations for prospective students and their families, placement counselors, English Language Services sites, and foreign government representatives.
- Collect, evaluate, and process admissions materials for fulltime, part-time, undergraduate and graduate programs from the inquiry stage through matriculation, in compliance with the various academic department's admission criteria, in addition to awarding of financial aid and/or scholarships as appropriate. Prepare weekly reports, as directed by the Dean of Student Affairs.
- Prepare statistical reports and enrollment trends for the purpose of international recruitment.
- Work closely with the Offices of Full-time, Part-time, and Graduate Admissions to coordinate the proper recruitment of international students based on goals set forth by the University, and to work in conjunction with these offices to uphold the standards, processes, and procedures for the recruitment of international students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in the recruitment of international students.
Student Advising and Retention Duties:
- Serve as Principal Designated School Official (DSO) (PDSO) for all international students.
- Serve as chief liaison between the university and the US Department of Homeland Security (Customs & Border Protection; Immigration & Customs Enforcement; and Citizenship & Immigration Services) and related federal agencies.
- Resolve institutional/student immigration cases; maintain a complete understanding of changing laws, regulations, and legislation regarding international matters.
- Advise prospective and current students on the completion of immigration applications; work closely with the Office of the Registrar in authorizing all student visa documents (Form I-20) and oversee compliance and regulations.
- Process and file all immigration forms, and in cooperation with the Office of the Registrar, updates the SEVIS system as required by federal regulations.
- Counsel and advise international students regarding finances, housing, academic issues, and cultural adjustments.
- Coordinate and implement orientation programs for international students prior to all semesters.
- Assist with the production and update of all websites, the on-line application for admission, and all other publications released by the university.
- Serve as advocate for international and multicultural students within the university community.
- Plan and sponsor inter-cultural programming for university students and university community.
- Advise domestic students on the study abroad opportunities available at the university and the requirements needed to participate in the study abroad program.
- Maintain knowledge of current immigration regulations.
- Maintain files for current and former international students, alumni and accepted international students; and maintain general office files.
- Serve as advisor to international student club ay university.
- Serve as member of the NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in the advisement and retention of international students

REQUIREMENTS:
Masters Degree required, with a minimum of four years of experience in international student recruitment and admissions, including foreign academic credential evaluation; as well as a minimum of four years experience in immigration advising functions, with substantial knowledge and expertise in immigration laws and regulations.
