The University of North Texas is seeking a senior scholar to lead its Autism Research Cluster, an expanding group of faculty researchers that spans the Colleges of Arts and Sciences; Education; Information, Library Science, and Technologies; and Public Affairs and Community Service. The Autism Research Cluster, established with funding from the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, focuses on identification and intervention programs that enhance the quality of life for children and adults with autism.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Autism Research Cluster interdisciplinary team; acquire multiple sources of external funding to support Research Cluster activities; promote Research Cluster to external constituencies; disseminate results of Research Cluster activities; and graduate-level instruction.
Req. candidate profile :
Required qualifications include
A doctorate in social or behavioral science or education; demonstrated scholarship, teaching, and service qualifications for professor rank; and history of research related to autism and people with autism.
Desired qualifications include
An ongoing research program in a behavioral or intervention aspect of autism; demonstrated efforts in attracting external funding related to autism; demonstrated evidence of working cooperatively in interdisciplinary work teams; leadership experience in academic and/or professional settings; and demonstrated record of developing research in autism.
