| Job description: | Responsibilities include:
Recruiting and advising cohort groups, scheduling adjuncts, teaching online courses in early childhood administration, conducting scholarly research, mentoring graduate students, and serving on department and university committees. In addition to the ECA program, the Department of Early Childhood offers both graduate and undergraduate programs leading to initial licensure in early childhood education. The university and department have a strong commitment to achieving diversity among faculty and staff. |
| Req. candidate profile : | Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in early childhood education, early childhood administration, or related field; Successful experience teaching in higher education; Classroom teaching experience at the pre-primary and/or primary level; Experience administering an early childhood program; Demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity, publications, and conference presentations; Experience working with field-based partners; An area of specialization in early childhood education that will serve as the foundation for teaching, research, and outreach. Preferred Candidates: Articulate a vision and philosophy for education of early childhood administration students, families, and children birth to age 8; Possess experience in online teaching and/or adept use of technology as a teaching tool; Demonstrate an ongoing research agenda and teaching interests that can contribute to the early childhood administration program within the department; Demonstrate a understanding of multiple methods of scholarship in the areas of early childhood education and administration; Have teaching experience with diverse populations and/or in urban settings; Demonstrate an understanding of issues of importance to early childhood education and administration, primary education, director credentialing, and professional development. |
