Teach history courses(s). In addition, have expertise to teach 2nd-4th year undergraduate studios. Other lecture courses may include CAD, lighting, proxemics/anthropometrics, and a new sustainable design course. Graduate courses may also be available. Please note: Technology is infused throughout the curriculum.
Teaching load will be two classes per semester (2/2 load).
60% teaching, 25% research, 15% service.
Collaborate with other faculty in curriculum development, supervision of graduate teaching assistants, and industry outreach.
Conduct and disseminate research and/or creative scholarship.
Secure external funding in support of research or creative scholarship activity, teaching, and/or research.
Advise undergraduate and graduate students.
Req. candidate profile :
QUALIFICATIONS APPROPRIATE TO RANK:
REQUIRED
Minimum of a Master's degree with at least one degree in Interior Design;
Evidence of ability to work effectively with others; and
Evidence of scholarship and/or grant writing development and a willingness to develop a research/creative scholarship program including grantsmanship.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
Successful practice experience in Interior Design including technology integration;
LEED/NCIDQ certification;
Previous teaching experience in higher education;
Earned doctorate or ABD;
Experience or interest in sustainable/global design and,
Ability to advance the Department's commitment to diversity and multiculturalism through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals and activities.
