Job description: The Department of Nutrition, Food Science, & Hospitality at South Dakota State University invites applications for a 9 month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Hospitality Management with Foodservice expertise. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality management. Research and scholarship will also be expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in hospitality management with an emphasis in foodservice courses; providing leadership in curriculum development, assessment, student recruitment/retention; engaging in research/scholarly activities; and service to the profession, institution, industry and community.
Req. candidate profile : MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctoral degree in Hospitality/Foodservice Management or related field completed by August 15, 2009. ABD or those with significant progress toward degree with expected completion within one year will be considered. Also required are effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Teaching experience at a college or university; experience in the hospitality or foodservice industry; evidence of a publication record, grant writing, or other scholarship accomplishments.
