Additional Information:
Tarrant County College Northeast seeks a generalist in Communication Studies with experience in directing and/or coaching Forensics.
The successful candidate will join an established and rapidly growing program and will be expected to:
- Teach a range of communication courses, including such core courses as fundamentals, business and professional communication, public speaking, and one or more of the following: voice and diction, interpersonal, small group, honors courses, and forensics activities
- Coach and assist in the direction of the forensics team, including weekend travel to tournaments and judging as well as extensive additional time working with students and on administrative aspects of the program
- Serve as a Assistant Director of Forensics with an understanding that the position will evolve into Director of Forensics
- Be willing to teach using technology and distance learning modes
- Display an ongoing commitment to committee work and community involvement
- Participate in curriculum development that is responsive to a diverse community, student needs and interests, and changing technologies in contemporary learning environments
- Engage in department, division and college initiatives, as well as the shared governance of the College
- Maintain competency in teaching and the discipline through professional development activities and participation in state and national associations and tournaments
- Teach a flexible schedule including nights and weekends if necessary

- Academic training or expertise in assessment, service-learning, and curriculum design
- Academic training or experience in communication and technology
- Academic training or experience in forensics and the interest and ability to develop forensics programming
