IKG Industries is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high quality steel grating with unparalleled capacity for resistance welded bar grating in North America.
Key Functions:
- Plans and coordinates the overall manufacturing operation for the plant, including production and shipping schedules.
- Reviews production and inspection reports. Assures proper reporting from plant to office. Follows up on problem areas to assure schedules are met and problems are resolved.
- Oversees the plant maintenance function to assure plant is maintained.
- Assists in the design and modification of systems and equipment and assures compliance with IKG and governmental rules and regulations in the plant.
- Hires, trains and supervises the plant supervisory work force which is directly responsible for the direction of the daily activities of an hourly work force engaged in production, maintenance and shipping.
- The ability to implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvements.
- Participate with Plant management to lead and monitor all aspects of the plant safety program, not only identifying trends and issues but also developing strategies for resolving them.
- Attends production meetings and conducts monthly safety meetings.
- Handles some customer problems directly.
- Assures the implementation of IKG policies and procedures relating to manufacturing, safety, and personnel.
- Responsible for the maintenance of good employee relations in the plant and for the proper administration of the company/​union contract.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a steel manufacturing environment is beneficial
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong analytical and technical background with mechanical, hydraulic and electronically operated manufacturing equipment.
- Proven leadership with an ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach.
- Lean Implementation experience and knowledge of six sigma strategies and principles.
- Should possess a solid understanding of OSHA Regulations and standards, as well as, an understanding of the environmental protection agency requirements.
- Must be team-oriented and possess exceptional interpersonal skills
- Must be extremely detail oriented and able to effectively manage large amounts of information.
- Proven ability to self-manage in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Must have excellent written, oral communications, and administrative skills.
- Must have excellent people, supervisory, and problem-solving skills
