Job description
Job description: Under the guidance of the Research Unit's Director and Senior Project Director, the Grant Development Associate will work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs) and their research teams to support Center for Health Policy and Research (CHPR)'s grant development process. CHPR is a part of Commonwealth Medicine within UMass Medical School.


Responsibilities:
  • The Grant Development Associate will provide PIs and their teams with administrative and organizational support during the development of proposals for external funding, collaborate with appropriate staff in CHPR's Finance department on budget forms and other financial applications,
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a resource library of frequently-used grant development forms and other documents, and provide other support to promote CHPR's grant development activities.
  • The Grant Development Associate will also ensure that CHPR's grant-related work is well-coordinated with the UMMS Office of Research (OOR), the university department that oversees the development and dissemination of institutional policies related to research administration.
  • The Grant Development Associate will be responsible for ensuring that PIs and their teams are aware of OOR requirements and timelines and will serve as a central point of contact between OOR and CHPR.
  • This position requires attention to detail, good organizational, communication and writing skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Req. candidate profile : Requirements
  • Masters degree, or equivalent, in public health, public policy, or public administration or related field
  • Previous experience with grant management and familiarity with research environments.
