The University of North Texas College of Education seeks a nationally recognized scholar to hold the Velma E. Schmidt Endowed Chair in Early Childhood Education as a professor with tenure in the Department of Teacher Education and Administration.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include leadership and development of excellence in initial, master's and doctoral programs in Early Childhood Education to include national recognition at the doctoral level, an annual conference in Early Childhood Education, and a research agenda of national importance; development of externally funded support for programs; teaching and advising of graduate and undergraduate students; and collaboration in achieving the goals of the academic plans of the university, college , department, and program.

Academic and Professional Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in early childhood education or a related field with an early childhood cognate/specialization is required. The person selected will qualify for appointment at the professor level, bringing to the position leadership and excellence as a scholar in Early Childhood Education through nationally recognized scholarship, demonstrated ability to secure external funding for research and program development, and a record of collaboration in advancing the field. Successful experience in teaching and mentoring doctoral students and less experienced faculty are expected.
